Yellow Emperor Snakehead
Young juvenile stock of Yellow Emperor Snakehead, also known as Yellow Sentarum Channa (Channa marulioides), a highly sought-after variant known for developing striking golden coloration as it matures. At this early stage, juveniles display only light base tones, with the deeper patterning gradually emerging over time with proper care, stable water conditions, and a varied high-protein diet.
A powerful predatory species originating from the Sentarum region of Borneo, this snakehead is best suited for experienced keepers with large aquariums, secure lids, and an understanding of the long-term needs of growing Channa species.
Note: Final coloration appears gradually with age; subdued lighting and natural hardscape help enhance the fish’s contrast as it develops.
Fish Size Guide:
The 'Maximum Size' outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.
Discus.ae prefers younger stock for their better ability to adapt to new water parameters and higher tolerance against transport. On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as "Large" or "Adult".
