Tiger Shovelnose Catfish

Note: Due to the rapid growth of this species, our Tiger Shovelnose Catfish is available by pre-order only. Supply depends on hatchery breeding cycles. Please allow 2–4 weeks for delivery and select “Cash/Card on Delivery” at checkout.

Juvenile stock of Tiger Shovelnose Catfish. Also known as the Tiger Catfish, Tiger Shovelnose, or Barred Sorubim, this impressive South American predator is instantly recognizable by its long, flat snout and bold black-and-silver striped body. Highly sought after by monster fish keepers, the Tiger Shovelnose can grow to very large sizes, making it unsuitable for standard aquariums. Our current stock is offered as small juveniles, giving dedicated aquarists the opportunity to raise and enjoy them as they grow into their striking adult form.

Fish Size Guide:

The 'Maximum Size' outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.

On rare occasions you may receive larger specimens when small fish are unavailable, however the smallest should be expected unless the size is noted as "Large" or "Adult".
