Striped Raphael Catfish

Young juvenile stock. Also known as the Talking Catfish, Striped Dora Catfish, Raphael Catfish, or Chocolate Catfish, this armored species is a classic favorite among aquarists. With its bold cream-colored stripes against a dark brown body, it adds both beauty and character to community aquariums. Platydoras costatus is famous for producing audible “clicking” or “talking” sounds when handled or during social interactions. Peaceful and hardy, it thrives as a bottom-dweller and is best kept in a group where it feels secure. Our stock is sold as juveniles, giving hobbyists the joy of raising them to full size.
