L236 Cracked Pleco
Rare & Limited Availability! Our L-Number designer plecos are captive bred and not wild caught animals.
The L236 Cracked Zebra Pleco (Hypancistrus sp. L236) is a stunning and rare pleco variety, closely related to the famous Zebra Pleco. It is distinguished by its unique “cracked” or irregular stripe pattern, giving each individual a one-of-a-kind appearance. Native to the Rio Xingu in Brazil, this small pleco thrives in well-oxygenated aquariums with strong water flow, caves, and hiding spots. Highly prized among pleco enthusiasts, it is a true collector’s fish.
The L236 has an interesting variation in its shade and patterns where each fish from the same breeding will display differences in color and stripes (as shown in the second image). These patterns continue to evolve and change as the fish grows
It's important to note that our L-Numbrs are clear from diseases and well adapted to clean and dechlorinated local tap water. However given that our pleco stocks are kept in pristine water conditions with very low bacterial content, we urge owners to avoid adding them directly into an old aquarium to prevent adverse reactions which may lead to unfavorable health risks. Instead, please prepare a separate quarantine tank, our affordable rimless aquariums are an excellent choice for this purpose.
