As with most bromeliads, the Pink Quill has a life cycle where it blooms once, the quill fades to brown where the bract should be cut off. Under good conditions and light, the mother plant produces baby plants which must be separated and can take up to 3 years to develop a new bract of their own. Sufficient light is required for 4-6 hours daily for the vibrant color to develop.

Care Tips:

Place in bright, indirect bright light, mist regularly to maintain humidity, and water sparingly by keeping the central “cup” from getting dry. A pot with orchid bark and peat moss with good drainage is recommended.
