Sunset Thicklip Gourami

The Sunset Thicklip Gourami, often wrongly confused with Honey Gourami which is a different species, is an attractive variety which remains moderately small allowing it to be suitable for most aquarium sizes and a peaceful choice for community tropical fish tanks which houses other similar tank mates. The color of this Gourami changes based on its age and environment and can range between a silver-yellow to golden-orange with ability to darken and brighten itself, it can also turn into "Red" if given a diet that is rich with ingredients such as astaxanthin.

Feeding the Sunset Thicklip Gourami is easy, we highly recommend a staple flake food or granules that does not promote color boosting additives to maintain its golden shade, you may find a wide selection of options in our food section to choose from.

The Sunset Thicklip Gourami prefers calmer water flow and does best in planted environments which allows it plenty of hiding spots to explore.
