Silver Glass Catfish

Unlike most catfish that grow very large, the mini Silver Glass Catfish remains under 10 cm making it one of the smallest of its kind and the best option for standard aquarium volumes. Similar in appearance to the popular Shark Catfish when they're young but with the perfect benefit of permanently staying small. This active swimmer is also a great schooling fish that swims mostly at the mid-water level and has a glass like body with blue and green shine which makes it a mesmerizing addition to any aquarium.

This fish should not be confused with the common Ghost Catfish (also known as Phantom Catfish), the two species are entirely different with the Silver Glass Catfish being significantly rarer and difficult to acquire.

Caution must also be taken when mixing this delicate fish with other tank mates, it should not be kept with barbs and other fin nippers who often will chase and stress the Silver Glass Catfish, instead it prefers peaceful companions such as loaches, rasboras, rainbows, and most bottom feeders. This catfish is also sensitive to bad bacteria and poor conditions, keeping it in clean and well maintained water is necessary.

The Silver Glass Catfish accepts most foods and benefits from the addition of our almond leaves which adds tannins to the water to lower their stress when first introduced to their new home.
