Red Fiesta Cichlid
The Fiesta Cichlid, also known as Red Terror Cichlid (Mesoheros / Cichlasoma festae), is a powerful South American cichlid admired for its intense red coloration and commanding presence. Young juveniles show softer colors with subtle bronze tones that gradually intensify as the fish matures.
Relatively hardy when kept in stable, clean water and fed a high-quality, protein-rich diet. This species is naturally territorial and assertive, even from a young age, and is best suited for experienced aquarists. Provide ample space, strong filtration, and décor such as rocks or driftwood to help establish territories and reduce stress.
This species grows into a large, highly aggressive cichlid. Adult size, coloration, and behavior will differ significantly from juveniles. Future tank upgrades and carefully selected tank mates are essential for long-term success.
Note: Pattern and intensity of coloration vary among individuals. Color brightness can change depending on mood, age, dominance, and environmental conditions. Selecting a specific pattern or shade is not possible.
Fish Size Guide:
The 'Maximum Size' outlined below is the length this fish can reach as a full grown adult. For the actual size please use the select menu above.
