L155 Polka-Dot Lyretail Pleco
Rare & Limited Availability! Our L-Number designer plecos are captive bred and not wild caught animals.
The Polkadot Lyretail Pleco, also known as the Galaxy Pleco, Acanthicus adonis, Polka Dot Cactus Pleco, (Pseudacanthicus sp. L155), is a beautifully patterned species that develops striking contrast and long lyretail fins as it grows. Reaching an adult size of over 30 cm, this pleco show lighter spotting when young which deepens and sharpens with age, especially when fed high-quality protein-rich sinking foods. Originating from the Rio Xingu region, this pleco thrives in warm, well-oxygenated water with caves and plenty of shaded retreats.
It's important to note that our L-Numbrs are clear from diseases and well adapted to clean and dechlorinated local tap water. However given that our pleco stocks are kept in pristine water conditions with very low bacterial content, we urge owners to avoid adding them directly into an old aquarium to prevent adverse reactions which may lead to unfavorable health risks. Instead, please prepare a separate quarantine tank, our affordable rimless aquariums are an excellent choice for this purpose.
